Election Bio — Having operated a nationally accredited family child care business for over 17 years in Wisconsin, I understand first hand how committed all providers are to children and quality care. I believe NAFCC, and its board, has a responsibility to show this same commitment to our members. As a board member the past four years, I have volunteered to write press releases to honor our accredited providers, fought to include NAFCC Accreditation as a top level in my state’s QRIS, obtained funding for accreditation scholarships, written numerous articles for providers, parents and affiliates for NAFCC’s newsletter, created materials to improve board reporting and communication, and presented numerous trainings at the NAFCC National Conference, helping providers and trainers improve business practices, curriculum and their overall professionalism. This work, along with all the great providers I’ve met in my travels as an author and speaker, have only strengthened my commitment. Last year I took a lead role in creating a new strategic plan for NAFCC. I saw the passion and commitment of our board as we worked to set NAFCC on a path for the future that would deepen our relationship with our members, strengthen our reputation as a national voice for providers, and uplift the state associations that help build that link among us all. As a very action-oriented person, I look forward to seeing our plan be put into action by defining for our board, committees, and staff, the work to be done and motivating them all to reach these accomplishments and make NAFCC stronger and better than ever!
