Election Bio — I have been a registered family child care provider in Prince George’s County, MD since 1996. I am credentialed at level 5 and have been accredited through NAFCC since 2003.

It has been my pleasure to serve as president of my local child care association, Professional Child Care Provider Network of Prince George’s County, Inc., from 2001 – 2007 and vice-president and education chair from 2007 to present.

Since the beginning of my tenure with my local association, we have collaborated with and formed many partnerships with government and non-governmental agencies to provide educational workshops, training, technical assistance, and support to providers throughout our county. We were especially pleased to announce development of a partnership and signing of an MOU with our local school system. I am a participating community partner with my county school system as well.

Our association was also awarded several grants to provide training, technical assistance, material, equipment, and support to providers that promotes quality care, school readiness, inclusion of children with special needs, and accreditation through NAFCC.

In 2006, I was honored to serve on Governor O’Malley’s Universal Preschool for All Task Force. I have also had the pleasure of serving as vice-president and education chair for Maryland State Family Child Care Association since 2008 where one of my responsibilities has been overseeing the planning and expedition of the Maryland State Family Child Care Conference.

I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve and support all the providers in my region as Regional Representative to the National Association of Family Child Care Association.
