Election Bio — For the past 17 years I have had the pleasure of educating myself while sharing knowledge and expertise with other family child care providers. My 17 years of childcare expertise entails the following accomplishments and developments:

•  I began as a family child care provider in 1993 in the Austin Community • While continuing to service Chicago communities in 1999 I decided to join a group of family child care providers to participate in a pilot program which was called Family to Family.
• While being in Family to Family, we were one of the first groups to complete the second edition of the Quality Standards for NAFCC Accreditation
• Was chosen to serve as an Advisor for 8 ½ years with Action for Children of Illinois.
• For the past 10 years I strongly promoted of the Child Care Advocacy Group here in Illinois, supporting and promoting quality childcare.

My greatest accomplishment in the seasoned field of quality child care is The Greater Austin Child Care Providers Association. While being the President of Greater Austin Child Care Providers Association we have served hundreds of families and Family Child Care Providers. We were able to offer networking, child care trainings and toys for all of the families we serve during the holiday season. I believe I should be elected as the NAFCC Regional 5 Representative because of my dedication to the family child care industry.
