Observation Visit
By applying for NAFCC Accreditation you are indicating that you are ready for the observation visit. In this step, NAFCC assigns an observer, works with the observer and candidate to schedule the visit and the observation takes place. The observer and candidate return observation material to NAFCC.
The time you submit your application determines the month that your observation visit will occur. You will have a choice of 1 of 2 months.

Once NAFCC verifies that your application is complete you will be contacted to select the month you would like to have your observation visit. You may also be eligible to select up to 4 days during that month that you would like to exclude from the schedule.
- If your program is open at least 5 days a week you may identify up to 4 days that month that you would like to exclude from the schedule.
- If your program is open at least 4 days a week you may identify up to 2 days that month you would like to exclude from the schedule.
- If your program is open less than 4 days a week you are not eligible to exclude any days from the schedule.
You should be prepared for your observation visit any of the remaining days during the month.
The month prior to the observation visit NAFCC will send the candidates observation packet which includes:
- Self-Certified Standards for NAFCC Accreditation
- Sample Observer Workbook
- Parent Surveys
- Conflict of Interest Statement
After the observation visit, the candidate returns the self-certified standards and parent surveys to NAFCC to be used in the decision step. The conflict of interest statement and the evaluation of the observer are also returned at this time.
