Accreditation Application
When candidates believe they have made the necessary professional development and quality improvements, they demonstrate their commitment to completing the process when they submit the Accreditation Application. Upon receipt of the application, NAFCC assesses candidate eligibility for completing the accreditation process. Candidates should submit an application only if they are ready for an observation.
How to Apply for Accreditation
Candidates must have enrolled in self-study to apply for accreditation. Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements and submit an application with all applicable documents in order for NAFCC to verify eligibility.
If candidates are applying as co-providers, they must each meet hte eligibility criteria.Co-providers will submit one application, which includes required information for both candidates.

The Application
Candidates submit an accreditation application, which includes the following. Click on each link for forms and information:

Planning for the Observation Visit
It is important to plan for when you will be able to have an observation visit before you submit your application. The observation visit will take place the 4th or 5th month (candidate’s choice) after the application is received and eligibility is verified. Submit your complete application according which month you are available to complete an observation visit.

Once NAFCC verifies that your application is complete you will be contacted to select the month you would like to have your observation visit. You may also be eligible to select up to 4 days during that month that you would like to exclude from the schedule.
- If your program is open at least 5 days a week you may identify up to 4 days that month that you would like to exclude from the schedule.
- If your program is open at least 4 days a week you may identify up to 2 days that month you would like to exclude from the schedule
- If your program is open less than 4 days a week you are not eligible to exclude any days from the schedule.
You should be prepared for your observation visit any of the remaining days during the month.
