THE NAFCC ACCREDITATION COMMISSION

The NAFCC Accreditation Commission is responsible for accreditation decisions. Commissioners have at least a Master’s Degree in early childhood education or a closely related field. They are well acquainted with the diversity of family child care homes, and have expertise in particular areas such as special needs, language, cultural subgroups, etc.

Qualifications for NAFCC Accreditation Commissioners

  •  Be a current member of NAFCC
  • Have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child or Human Development, or a related field.
  • Be familiar with everyday life in family child care, either through direct experience or as someone who has worked closely with family child care.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the NAFCC Quality Standards and the process of accreditation.
  • Be a trained NAFCC Accreditation Observer
  • Be nationally accredited if a current family child care provider.
  • Be available for monthly commission meetings via telephone or conference calls
