IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING ACCREDITATION AND COVID-19

  • Due to the current pandemic, NAFCC Accreditation processing is greatly delayed. We are working hard to respond to all inquiries, and we appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time. The best way to contact accreditation is by emailing accreditation@nafcc.org. All inquiries will be responded to by email only.

APPLICATIONS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • NAFCC prioritizes the health and safety of our members, the children and families they serve, and our observers. Currently all Accreditation Observations are suspended in cooperation with state and local stay at home orders.
  • If you are currently accredited and due for reaccreditation during 2020, you may receive an extension of your current accreditation. This extension is offered to providers in the observation stage who have submitted a complete application. Providers who have submitted a complete application will be contacted by NAFCC regarding your extension. Extensions may also be granted to providers who are due for reaccreditation but unable to submit a complete application due to limitations to access background checks, first aid and CPR certification, and/or health assessments. More information with access to apply for an extension will be emailed to accredited providers by April 30, 2020.
  • NAFCC strongly encourages providers due for reaccreditation or applying for accreditation to submit their complete application if possible. This will place you in the queue to receive your observation once restrictions have lifted.

18 MONTH UPDATES

  • Accredited providers submitting their 18-month update should make every effort to submit their complete update paperwork. If you are unable to update expired background checks, first aid and CPR certifications, and/or health assessments, you will be able to apply for an extension. More information with access to apply for an extension will be emailed to accredited providers by April 30, 2020.

SELF-STUDY

  • As our staff is sheltering in place, we are able to enroll you in the online self-study program and mail you a copy of the Benchmarks to Quality booklet. After shelter in place restrictions are lifted, we will send the remainder of your printed self-study materials.
