Conference FAQ

Have questions about how the 2020 virtual National Family Child Care Conference will work? Look no further! Below are the answers to our most commonly asked questions about the conference. Have a question that isn't answered below? Email us at conference@nafcc.org and we'll make sure to answer it within 24 hours! Don't wait to register as registration closes on July 15th!

What does my registration price include?

Your registration fee gets you access to the entire conference – no strings attached! Once you pay the registration fee and register, you’ll be able to access the virtual conference when it starts on the 17th and will be able to access everything on the platform until it ends on the 18th. This includes access to the entire conference on-demand for 90 days when the conference is over!

Are the workshops going to be presented live or will they be recorded?

Yes! With the exception of our general sessions and keynote presentations which will be pre-recorded as well as some presenters who couldn’t present live, all of our workshops are going to be presented live. This means you will still get the same opportunity to interact with our amazing and knowledgeable presenters during the workshops, just like you would on-site and in person.

What if I can’t attend live, should I still register?

Yes! If you register for the conference, but can’t attend the live event on the 17th and 18th, you’ll still have access to the entire conference on-demand later! This means you’ll be able to login to the platform, and watch all the recordings of the general sessions, workshops, and any other events that happened during conference on your own time for 90 days after the conference. And guess what? You’ll still be able to earn training credit for watching the recordings too!

Will I get training credit for attending? How do I get training credit?

Yes of course! To get training credit for attending the workshops (live AND on-demand!), all you’ll need to do is take a simple 10-question quiz that accompanies each workshop and pass with an 80% or above. Once the 90 day on demand period is over, we’ll send out training certificates to participants via email and award CEU credit to those who earned it. You’ll be able to request your transcript with CEU credits from Auburn University 4-6 weeks after that for only $10. But don’t worry, we’ll give you all the information you need to do this.

How long will I have to watch the on-demand videos?

Unfortunately, the on-demand videos won’t be available forever. But you will have 90 days after conference to go back and watch your favorite workshops as well as the workshops that you didn’t get to attend for more training hours and more amazing content!

What will I need? Do I need to buy anything extra to attend the conference on the computer?

You don’t need to buy anything extra to attend the conference! All you need is you, a device to access the conference (we recommend a laptop or computer, but a phone or tablet works too!), and a steady internet connection.

Do I have to show my face during the conference? Is a webcam and microphone required?

While using a webcam and microphone is not required, it is highly encouraged! Because we can’t meet in person, we hope to be able to see everybody’s beautiful face virtually on our screens. Turning your camera on is up to you, but we hope you’re not shy as we’re all going to be attending from home. We also think that turning your camera on and having a microphone to interact with presenters when needed will make it a better experience for everyone.

When does conference start in my time zone?

One of the benefits of the conference is that you’ll be able to view conference from the comfort of your own home. Watch from your couch in your pajamas if you want! However, this means we have to accommodate 4 different time zones. Some people will have early mornings while others might have late nights. It’s the tradeoff we have to make to make sure everyone around the country can participate. All times for the conference on our website are listed in Eastern time zone, but you can go here to see the conference schedule in your own time zone.

Will I still get training credit for the on-demand videos? How?

Yes! To earn training credit and CEU's for watching recorded workshops, you'll need to take the accompanying quiz that goes with the workshop and pass it with an 80% or above. Once the 90 day on-demand period is over, we'll send out certificates to those who requested it and send over those who earned CEU credit to Auburn University. It takes about 4-6 weeks for Auburn University to post these trainings on your transcript, but we'll let you know when those are ready to be requested. Once they are ready, you can purchase your entire transcript for $10! But don't worry, we'll keep you up to date throughout the entire process and let you know exactly when they're ready to be requested.
