Thank you Sue Williamson!

This year for Provider Appreciation Day, NAFCC would like to honor past president, Sue Williamson.

Sue was a co-founder of Provider Appreciation Day in 1995 along with Sue Schmidt, Ginny Rutkowski, and Monday Morning Inc staff. The day was founded asa day of respect and recognition for family child care providers, center based staff, and advocates who work with staff everywhere. When Sue became NAFCC President in 2006, she transferred the initiative to NAFCC and Child Care Aware of America.  What started as a small grass-roots effort grew into a national day that is now celebrated throughout the United States, and with military child care, around the world!

Sue passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 after an illness. We will always remember her contribution to the field of family child care and early education, and her passion for honoring family child care providers through Provider Appreciation Day.
